Honoring Syamala Devi Penna

Born on May 21, 1934, in Gulbarga, Maharashtra, Syamala Devi Penna was the youngest daughter among four siblings. Her life showcased resilience, love, and generosity, and a spirit that touched the hearts of those around her.

At the tender age of 14, Syamala Devi Penna embarked on the journey of marriage. Her husband’s work at NCERT, where he contributed to the creation of textbooks, provided a foundation for their family. A wonderful cook, Syamala Devi Penna found joy in the kitchen, adapting herself to new recipes and flavors.
