We formed a dedicated core group of hardworking
volunteers.
Became incorporated as a non-profit organization in
the State of Oregon in November 2001.
Formed a Youth Board and created bylaws.
Organized several successful fundraisers that used
the talents of our volunteers.
Forming strong collaborative relationships with non-profits and dedicated volunteers in India.
REAL has sent over $12,600 to in aid to help rural
schools and communities in India.
2001: Provided a $755 grant to three village schools in
the Kutch region of Gujarat (new schools that have been
rebuilt following the devastating January 26, 2001 Bhuj
earthquake). The funds were being used for educational
kits, and school supplies.
2002: Provided a $660 grant for scholarships for
education beyond the 7th grade, the library, and school
supplies for rural education.
2002: Provided $700 of science equipment and teaching
aids for enhanced science education.
2003: Provided a $200 grant to Narivrund for women's education and training of income earning skills.
2003-2004: Provided a total of $9,700 in grants to the Shertha Village
School for a technical and vocational program, a
science discovery center, and a mobile outreach program
to surrounding village schools.
